Kris Nóva Biography.
Kris Nóva (she/her) is an author, engineer, computer scientist, and alpinist best known for her work on Linux, Kubernetes, and Aurae.
Today she works as an Engineer at GitHub.
Her domain specialization is applied compute and runtime performance in the enterprise. Specifically she works with the Linux kernel, distributed runtime environments such as Aurae and Kubernetes, platform infrastructure, and open-source software engineering.
In 2023 she co-founded The Nivenly Foundation to serve as a governing entity for Hachyderm Decentralied Social Media and the Aurae Runtime Project. Nivenly aims to bring sustainability, autonomy, and control to open source projects and communities around the globe.
In 2022 she authored Hacking Capitalism an independently published book about modeling the tech industry as a system. In 2017 she co-authored Cloud Native Infrastructure published by O’Reilly Media.
Nóva is well known for her open source contributions including projects like Linux, Kubernetes, and The Go Programming Language. A popular public speaker, she is best known for her Twitch stream, and her Kubernetes clusterfuck talks.
